About the Author
Brooklyn-based painter Iris Scott is the only fine-art oil finger painter working today. She earned a BFA in Painting and a MA in Teaching, and studied painting in Florence. During a year spent backpacking in Southern Taiwan, Iris stumbled upon finger painting by accident and has not picked up a paintbrush since. Her Facebook following is over 25,000 fans and growing. Currently, her finger-painting originals hang in Philadelphia, Seattle, San Diego, and Jackson Hole. Collectors from around the world buy her originals, and there are daily orders for her prints. Scott's most iconic painting, Shakin' Off the Blues, has gone viral several times, including on Reddit, where it captured nearly 2 million hits and counting. Finger Painting is the perfect touch!

“From the textured front cover to the last page, this beautifully written and illustrated book is the best of its kind. Detailed instructions and step by step pictures make finger painting a totally exciting adventure. The written directions are easy to follow and the results are quite achievable by amateurs and professionals. You can have your own Van Gogh or Monet style painting with your own creative touches. I have had the privilege of painting three of these examples from the book alongside Iris Scott in a live workshop setting, and the finished paintings are bright, Impressionistic treasures that are proudly hanging in my home. I love the squiggly lines, the chunky strokes, the dots and the dabs illustrated in the techniques section of the book. Her sky and trees are spectacular! She shares her techniques generously, and her book will become a “Bible” of artists who love Impressionism and vibrant colors. Cleanup is super easy using paper towels with the super water-based Holbien oil paint. I find that putting my gloved fingers into thick, rich paint is also therapeutic and peaceful.”

Color to the Max! Step-by-Step Amazing Book!

I absolutely love Iris Scott's artwork, and so when I heard she had a book coming out, I had to purchase it! The book is wonderful! Iris takes you by the hand, step by step for each painting, laying out all the supplies you need and bringing you to the finishing touches. I've done two paintings already and I'm hooked. If you want to unleash your colorful, creative self, it only takes a few hours from start to finish, and you'll have a work of art you can enjoy for many years to come. Holbein Aqua Duo are THE best paints to use, and so happy I bought them. Amazing color. You will love this book!

Fingerpainting Fun...and faster than brushes!

Iris does a great job of providing step by step instructions using pictures that you can look at while you are painting along with the book. She also provides insight into what sells in the marketplace and how to do it if you happen to want to make a happy buck doing what you love. I have attached a painting I have just completed from this book, the first one she walks you through. I can tell I will have to keep working at this method of painting to improve but it is a lot of fun :-)
