Good writing, great subject matter

This was an assigned school text that was a great joy to read. It clearly states a wonderful approach to conflict transformation that is based on the author's real-life experiences.
It shows how you can confidently step into a conflict situation and be a catalyst to bring about reconciliation among the parties. This is about relationships, about connecting as humans. The approaches detailed in this slim volume works, as I have found ways to put the methods to work right away.
Lederach is an authority on the subject as a good writer, too! A joyous combination!

For a textbook, this one was fantastic. Not only was it extremely informative (like every textbook should be), but the information was laid out in a way that was easy and enjoyable to comprehend. I kept this book around for a long time for all my Microsoft office needs until I found a great resource online.

The seller that I originally bought the book from, did not send the book, and I had tomake numerous calls and semd several emails, all without a response. Finally, I got a supervisor from amazon, that totally rocked. I had to reorder the book, and through this person, I got the book next day shipping. Fantastic WF+MOSS 2007 reference

I struggled with workflows, especially integreating the webified versions into MOSS 2007 Forms Server going back to the very early beta days. While I was able to get them to work, some concepts were hazy to me. David's book brought it all together with some fantastic examples. If you're new to WF, this first section will address the core concepts... no need to go out and get another workflow book. The three chapters on creating a custom activity, creating a sequential & statemachine workflow, and making it available over the web via Forms Server are fantastic.

Only reason I'm not giving it a 5 out of 5 is because the book is very conversational. A book of this type should be more reference, not "chatty."

Actually, pretty disappointed.

The majority of the info in this book (which is only 55 pages before it hits advertising) can be found on slic3r.org. I was hoping for something more specific, more direct, clearer about how to use Slic3r. Instead of guiding step-by-step, there's a lot of guesswork the reader has to do to figure things out. Would have been nice if they had gone over the infill patterns, their purposes, what works best for different types of prints, etc.

This book provides a clear summary of what the slicer does and how to use it to best advantage. In particular it can help in pointing out features that are unclear and that a user might not see for months on his own, thereby gaining time and avoiding frustration. As often happens one wishes ever more detail, but what this book provides is definitely useful and makes it a worthwhile investment.

Good if you are new to slic3r

The book is aptly titled. If you are new to Slic3r and you need a crash course if using it. That being said, I was hoping for an in depth explanation of all the features and settings, and the book does not provide. If you have a 3d printer and have been printing and looking to enhance the quality of your prints I would not recommend this book. It does give good advice for those who are new to it but does not delve into how truly powerful slic3r is.
