Resistance only make it worst

The investigation into Lawrence’s kidnapping is in progress with Orion’s help. Orion’s belief that Artemis Williams is dead is something she needs to prove to him that she is the real one. But why fake her death to that office and not the world? Who and why are they trying to hide her. Plus being so close to Orion and with ever touch the pull becomes stronger and harder to resist for Artemis. And the surprise that comes from her DNA, well you’ll just have to read the book to find that one out. Well written and very captivating story. Looking forward to the next installment.

What a roller coaster ride! Faster, steeper and sharper turns and it comes to an abrupt halt with a shot in the dark. Sylvia Frost has created a world that has the werebeasts tagged and tightly controlled. Only their weremates are more reviled than they. An organization was started to investigate and control werebeasts. It is the Federal Bureau of Supernatural Investigation, but things are changing in the Rochester office. Werebeasts are being hired as investigators. In this reality there's an app for following the werebeasts around on your phone or laptop. Xerox and Kodak have gone bankrupt, leaving several skyscrapers deserted. The possibilities for this series are seemingly endless.
Reading this series will leave you panting on the edge. Talk about HOT! Orion has a voice that is amazing. Artemis is Orian's weremate and with his voice can control her every move. My Kindle will probably spontaneously combust during one of these episodes. Now I am in the same situation as everyone else. I have to wait for January 10th. Aagghh! Talk about cliffhangers.

pivotal and simply stunning

This is the 3rd installment, so we know a few things now, her parents were murdered, not sure why or by whom exactly, her DNA has been modified because of parents, she's remembering things a bit more clearly, she does like Orion, she's still not sure who she can trust but she pretty much trusts Orion, and we were left with a sizable cliffhanger. Who did it, why, what is/was Stefania going to say, what the heck? I will say this we have a much better look at the main characters now, Artemis and even Orion are likeable. At this point most will like and trust Orion even though we still don't have much to go on, he seems like an okay guy even for an alpha with many secrets still to come out and we're lead to believe he really does care for Artemis. Then there's that humongous cliffhanger leaving us in the void. I saw it coming, frankly you can't miss it but wham it hit and you left with a stunned expression. I'm fairly certain my mouth opened and maybe even gaping like a fish.

Buena historia

Me gusta c�mo Eric relata, su forma amena y sencilla de escribir y c�mo desarrolla la psicolog�a de los personajes. La historia est� contada en primera persona, el lado de Logan, y podemos apreciar c�mo a trav�s de sus ojos no s�lo �l va cambiando sino todos a su alrededor. �Ser� que su visi�n de la gente es la que cambia; o es que los que lo rodean tambi�n, como �l, est�n experimentando una metamorfosis?
La sensaci�n que tuve al leer el libro fue que estaba como separado en dos partes bien marcadas debido a los cambios internos que se producen en Logan, a la metamorfosis que se est� produciendo alocadamente en su personalidad. Y el autor sabe mostrarlo muy bien, aunque para mi gusto vuelca demasiado en la escritura la confusi�n de Logan en algunos momentos.
La primera parte es bien lineal y abarca desde que Logan y Brock se conocen y c�mo transcurre su relaci�n hasta que tienen un t�rrido romance. La segunda parte podr�a decirse que comienza cuando Logan espera m�s de lo que Brock est� dispuesto a dar, entonces hace un paso al costado y emprende un viaje que cree le abrir� las puertas a la inspiraci�n que est� necesitando para poder terminar su nueva novela (la que va de mal en peor desde que Brock dej� de ser su editor y ha tomado las riendas de guiarlo una de las mejores editoras pero la mujer m�s arisca y �“arp�a”? que Logan haya conocido).
En su viaje conoce a dos mujeres, que lo reconocen a simple vista y se transforman de alguna manera en sus mecenas. Un viaje que iba a ser corto result� en uno sin fecha de regreso. �Ser� porque Logan no puede soportar volver a su rutina, a su vida perfectamente planificada, llena de listas y de tareas que cumplir? En su af�n por romper su rutinaria vida se pierde en un estilo de vida que no se acomoda a �l, pero del cual es dif�cil salir.
�Tendr�n Brock y Logan su felices para siempre?
La novela es buena, la primera parte (al menos la que yo considero primera parte) me encant�, aunque desde que Logan emprende su viaje de “descubrimiento” se torna todo algo confuso como la propia cabeza de Logan, perdiendo de alguna manera la chispa y la picard�a que ven�an teniendo los di�logos internos del escritor.

Just to clarify, this is a textbook for an undergraduate class in digital logic design that happens to teach VHDL, so those looking for a text primarily on VHDL will be disappointed. With that said, it does a good job overall of introducing the subject. Its explanations are generally clear, and it introduces all the foundations in a well-organized manner.

My one complaint was the fairly poor index and reference material, both of which could have used a little more work. While this book certainly has reference material, it wasn't especially helpful overall.

Disappointing and Poorly Organized Text

Given the large number of VHDL books out there, this book comes up signficantly short. Although the title clearly implies this is a VHDL book, actual VHDL is not introduced until Chapter 11; the first ten chapters explain various digital design concepts. This type of instruction is better left to other sources. While the explanation of VHDL modeling is clear enough, the order in which concepts are explained are puzzling at best, and maddening at worst. The terribly incomplete index is also frustrating- it's not possible to look up VHDL constructs or keywords for syntax! My advice would be to explore other VHDL books- this one is best left alone.

A good approach

There are not many books out there that can describe VHDL as good as this book does. I used this book as an introduction to Hardware logic in my EE classes and was always happy with the contents of the chapter. Although, some help was provided for the questions at the end of each chapter. In the advanced FPGA classes, this book provided a good reference whenever I forgot the basics.

Hate this book

Seriously, this book sucks. It still only has the even answers! And most of the solutions aren't explanations at all. This book assumes that you already know A LOT.

Far more often than not, I look at the back of the textbook and look at the answer, but I may not know how they came by said answer. So I head to the solutions manual for answers, only to see the exact same answer and read a short statement like "denominator has been simplified". Umm...what does that mean?? I need to know how the problem was SOLVED. A better answer would be something like "Use difference quotient to solve, then simplify answer by factoring numerator and denominator to remove radicals". That tells me a good place to start and how to simplify to obtain a final result. As it is, this book is almost totally useless to me. It's very rare that it's actually helpful.

If you are like me, just checking the answer in tha back of the book does not really help if your answer does not match the book. This solutions manual has the odd numbered problems completely worked out. It made studying so much easier by showing me where I went off track. A must have if you are buying the text!

Couldn't grasp Calculus if it wasn't for this manual

I was required to take Calculus and was dreading the class due to my weak math background. If it wasn't for this book, I wouldn't have been able to figure out most of the problems. It helped me tremendously and it helped me get an A in Calc. MUST BUY!

Great book, full of info, on breeding and history of breeding. A lot of this info is free, naturally, but the book flows well, gives an in depth view of Shorts philosophy, growing and some life. Would definitely recommend. I got the physical version but plan on getting the kindle version as well.

Great book about breeding

This book has good information from a solid breeder and it looks good too. A crazy purple budding plant wraps around the entire cover and it looks tasty. Inside there's useful charts and illustrations. PLUS, the color photo section has some nice photos.
Sure, this information has been in Cannabis Culture Magazine, but I don't have time to read through back issues and find all the articles (if I even saved them all). I like having all this information in one place.
I like this book. If you want to know how to go about breeding and stabilizing marijuana, you will like this book. DJ Short knows what he's talking about. His writing style is casual and straight forward. The book answered all of my questions about breeding and had some interesting asides and thoughts from DJ Short. Good stuff.

First off, DJ Short is an unbelievable breeder. This guy is an artist, really, and I've been reading his stuff for years. So I guess you could complain that a lot of what's in here has been published elsewhere but even as a fan of the guy, I'm not going to spend all my time flipping through hundreds of magazines trying to find all his articles. So if you want to hear what Short has to say about anything and everything- and believe me, you should- this book is where to find it. Also, the pictures are phenomenal and only DJ Short would have a flavor and olfaction chart centerfold. You've got to love this guy.

Okay Beginner Level Book

If you are relatively new to PhotoShop and are looking for a quick, relatively easy intro to B&W photo restoration, this isn't a bad little book. I wanted to love it, but I can't.

Pros: Deals with the basic tools and walks you through the process of using them to fix some problems. Easy to refer to the examples and apply to your scans. Short and easy to use. Inexpensive.
Cons: The printing is on uncoated paper so the example photos aren't always clear. The writing is sub par. No editing was done. The instructions were a little muddled in a couple of the examples. Doesn't address facial restoration if there is a lot of damage. One of his examples shows a family photo, with a big area of damage and he completely ignores how to repair that. Instead he focuses on blurring the background. It cries for information about how he repaired the faces and clothing of the damaged people, but he says not a word except that it will require a lot of work. (See photo of page from book.)

As a quick intro to see if you want to take on the task of repairing family heirlooms, this is a decent place to start. You won't be overwhelmed by all of the tools and choices PhotoShop provides. It's a painless beginning.

I recommend: Photo Restoration—From Snapshots to Great Shots by Robert Correll as the next step to increasing your skills.
Well written (even funny in places), easy to follow, addresses color as well as B&W. Yet not intimidating or overwhelming if you follow along the steps and examples of what he did to repair & improve the photos.

The Bible of photo restoration is: CTEIN's Digital Restoration From Start to Finish. Though it's getting a bit dated. It's an excellent advanced book.
